Do you set personal goals for yourself?
Goals set, I don’t know if I do or not. I know in my past I did. I sent a goal to get my education. I did sit for a GED and passed it. I did sit for college classes. I did sit for Boards.
Life gets in the way. I allowed life to get in the way. Or I would of been the pathologist I wanted to be. I got as far as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. I am proud of that accomplishment, but it is far from a pathologist.
I set a goal to work in one laboratory until I retired. I only managed 18 years. I set a goal to have a home paid off before I retired. My home is free and clear.
So, all in all, I consider myself successful. I retired to a beautiful little village with wonderful breathtaking scenes from every window. A place with more livestock than people. I see rolling hills of green dotted with cows. In the winter it’s beautiful rolling hills of white with cows dotting the scene.
Goal setting changes as one ages. I want peace, tranquility in a beautiful setting tas a goal. I love not having to set an alarm. I love that I can plan my day as busy as I want or slow as I want.
I love not having any pressure to fight traffic to get to work. My goals changed for this phase of life. I am glad!
